Hugo Robinson

Head of Global Research, Partner

Hugo joined Arisaig Partners in 2009. He worked for four years as an analyst for the Asia Fund before overseeing the portfolio construction process for the Arisaig Global Emerging Markets Fund from early 2013. Since early 2015 Hugo has been a member of the three-person Management Committee of Arisaig Partners, and is a Partner of the firm. A graduate of the University of Oxford (BA, Modern History), Hugo is based in the Hong Kong office.


Gordon Yeo

Head of Asia Research

Gordon was an intern with Arisaig Partners before he joined the Asia research team in 2012. He studied social sciences at Singapore Management University and has since obtained his CFA Charterholder and CPA license. Gordon is also completing his Masters in Computer Science at SMU and has been instrumental in the development of our proprietary financial analysis systems. He is based in Singapore.


Francis Harcus

Head of Africa Research

Francis has been Head of Africa and Middle East Research since the end of 2016. He initially joined our Latam team and was based in Rio de Janeiro for a year and a half before making the move across to Cape Town. Prior to joining Arisaig Partners Francis worked for French multinational Pernod Ricard where he was responsible for international brand development and sales of their Scotch Whisky and gin portfolio in the Iberian Peninsula. Francis received a First Class Honours degree in Hispanic Studies with distinction from Bristol University.


João Rosário

Head of Latin America Research

João joined Arisaig Partners in 2008 at the time of the inception of the Latin America Fund, initially working from Singapore. He moved over to South America in 2009 and became Head of Latin America Research in 2015. João and his team are based in Rio de Janeiro. He is a graduate of Nova School of Business and Economics in Lisbon, with an undergraduate degree in Management and a Masters in Management and Finance. João has supplemented his university education with a variety of courses at institutions such as Harvard, LSE and MIT on Strategy, Corporate Finance and Sustainability, among others.


David Lanning

Head of Thematic Research

David was appointed to his thematic research role in 2017, leading the firm’s analysis into broad consumer trends and their impact on companies within our universe, as well as the evolution of the end consumer and the role of digitalisation. David began his career at Arisaig in 2010 in Singapore, before moving to Rio de Janeiro in 2011 as part of the Latin America investment team, and has been based in the London office since 2015. He is a graduate of Oxford and Bristol Universities, with a First Class degree in Hispanic Studies and an MSc in Latin American Studies.
